More ImpulseRC Helix action because today was a beautiful day.

I really enjoyed flying the ImpulseRC Helix today. With BLHELI_S and (untuned) Betaflight 3.0 I did not feel any difference to my KISS setup. Smooth as silk.
You like the transparent props? They’re King Kongs and you can get 10 pairs of them at about USD7.
Since ImpulseRC failed (yes, failed) at delivering a 35° GoPro/FPV camera mount a DVR is all I can deliver right now.

You can purchase the incredibly low priced 30A BLHELI_S ESCs from Racerstar and RF2205 2300KV Racerstar motors at Banggood. Take a look at my first impressions.

Racerstar 30A ESCs fit perfectly fine inside the fairings. I can’t wait to test the super cheap Racerstar motors.

Banggood offered me to review the new 30A BLHELI_S ESCs from Racerstar and the ultra low priced RF2205 2300KV Racerstar motors. The first impression is really good, both products are nicely packaged.
The ESCs are smaller than the 30A version of little bees but bigger than the 20A version. The twisted signal and ground wire pair does not feel like silicone, which is the only thing I can complain about right now. The reviews on RC Groups are really good so I’m excited to try them out.
From the pictures at Banggood it looks like the base plate is really weak and the screw holes are not cut correctly. I was afraid that the base plate might break easily because of that. The motors I received look much better, the base plate feels strong and the holes are in place.
I will place the ESCs and motors onto the Helix from Impulse RC, which is arriving in about 7-14 days, so we’ll see how the setup performs. More about both products and videos from flying coming soon.
